Another great travel day.  Poked along and took our time today and traveled from Lone Pine, CA to Bridgeport via Bishop and Lee Vining.  Wanted to stop at Schat’s bakery in Bishop and tried but couldn’t find a good place to park.  Tried parking in a closed down strip mall until we saw “Violators will be towed” signs on every post …so we left and said “Next time”.

Stopped at Mono Lake Visitor’s center, had lunch and a nice view of the lake.  Perfect time of year for driving I-395 as the snow has started melting off the mountains which provides a great contrast against the blue skies.

Arrived in Bridgeport, CA around 3ish for the night.  REALLY want to see Bodie Ghost Town and saw the turn off but read where the last 3 miles is rough dirt road.  The Mini Cooper won’t cut it as it’s about 2″ off the ground.  We need to get another Jeep or something with higher clearance for off-road exploring.  Arggg.

I’m getting lazy uploading pics to the blog when I can just share a Google Album.  Plus, the pics are google are 10x better as the blog seems to reduce the resolution/size, etc. resulting in crappy photos.  Therefore here is another Google link to the pics taken today.  https://goo.gl/photos/K6AtdZfD4xvFyYrd8
