Happy Sunday! Not a lot new to report here on the desert front. The weather has been nice for January. We’ve had a few breezy days but mostly sunny and in the lower 70’s. For January we’ll take that any day. Next week we are supposed to warm up 10-15 degrees above normal into the 80’s for at least a week. Perfect.
On our walk this morning we encountered a large group of Donkeys. Normally we have seen only two that run together but today they apparently teamed up with a larger group. While our resort is gated there is a wash that runs up the middle that isn’t gated and we had donkeys in the resort last week during the night. They were probably swimming in the pool lol
It’s not as green as last season as we’ve only had 1 day of rain in something like 140 days. Last year it was cooler with more moisture and the hills/mountains had a slight green tinge. In fact 1 year ago today is when we landed in Lake Havasu after leaving Oregon with snow on the ground. Hmmm, that should be celebrated with afternoon refreshments!
Our son may be down next week to visit. He is attending the “King of Hammers” off-road race in Johnson Valley, CA again this year. Spring Break is just around the corner so things will start to get busy here in March.
That’s it for now. Go Patriots! (ducking)
